A new era for the club begins with a generous donation from ECL Civil Engineering, funding a new clubhouse, driving modernisation, and strengthening its focus on becoming a true community cricket club for all.
The clubhouse bar picks up the name ‘The Drunken Duck’. This becomes the lively part of the club, especially on match days.
The pavilion slowly turns into a proper social space. It’s not just about cricket anymore, people use it for events, get-togethers, and match-day drinks. It’s basically the heart of the club by this point.
The club settles into village life and becomes a regular part of Kislingbury weekends. Matches are played locally, with teas, cakes, and everyone hanging around after games.
